Q: What does the "Screen Doctor" do?
A: We repair (rescreen) existing window screens and sliding screen doors. Most of rescreening repair jobs are completed onsite. We fabricate and install new window screens and sliding screen doors. We also repair / rescreen patios, porches and gazebos.
Q: Can I drop off my screens?
A: No, The Screen Doctor is full service only! We come to your place and remove the screens for you, repair them and reinstall.
Q: What is your service area?
A: We have customers throughout the Chicagoland, most are in the North and West suburbs.
Q: I would like pet resistant screen material installed on our patio slider to keep in our cats safe. Can you help?
A: Yes! We have a patio slider screen tuneup service that includes a pet resistant fabric option.
Q: We just moved into a new home and discovered there are no screens in any of the windows! Can you help?
A: We would be happy to stop by and measure the windows for the new screens. We will fabricate and install new screens with all nessesary hardware.
Q: Our patio slider has a hole in the screen fabric and it does not slide well. Do I need a new door?
A: Often a good clean and lubricate will improve the operation of a sliding screen door. Due to difficulty of finding replacement parts, we do not attempt to replace missing or damaged wheels.
Q: The screens in my gazebo are very brittle and some halve holes. Do you repair gazebos?
A: Screens deteriorate with age and can turn very brittle and screens that have a Southern exposure will deteriorate at a much faster rate. We can replace screens by sections or we can re-screen the whole gazebo. We would recommend the heavy duty fabric with 18 x 14 mesh and .013 diameter thread for strength and durability.
Q: We have Anderson windows and some need to be re-screened. Can you repair Anderson?
A: We have to expertise and materials to repair all Anderson window screens and sliding screen doors..
Q: I have heard about a new screen that allows a clearer view.
A: This new screen material called Clear View, has a finer mesh that allows a clearer view, increased airflow and brighter rooms.
Q: I have a Pella sliding screen door that needs a new screen. Our dog sometimes paws at the screen and finally ripped a hole in the middle. Do you service Pella?
A: We do service Pella screen doors. You may be interested in our Pet Residant fabric. Very Strong!
Q: How do I pay?
A: All custom screen and door orders require a deposit with the balance due on completion of the job. A check is preferred. Visa / MC bank cards are accepted via PayPal.
Q: The sun shines directly into our living room through a group of large windows. In the summer this area gets very warm and uncomfortable. We also noticed the sun has faded the furniture and rug! Would solar screens help?
A: Solar screens can reduce the heat and damaging UV rays of the sun by up to 80%.
Q. We have a large dog that pushes through the screen of our sliding screen door. Have any ideas to stop this damage?

Q: Do you offer a warranty?
A: The Screen Doctor offers a Lifetime Warranty that covers workmanship, manufacturing defects in the screen material, and framing. It does not include weather damage, vandalism, pets or homeowner negligence. We will repair or replace any defective workmanship, screen material, or framing to the customers satisfaction. Screens must remain on the original house installed.
